- Rare, dwarf form of a Prickly Pear cactus that is both monstrose and variegated; unlike most oddities, this one is easy to grow
- Marbled stems can show striations of white, green, cream, and even pink if grown with plenty of direct sun
- Unique growth form of elongated pads that stack and branch to form a small, knobby shrub
- Relatively fast grower when given lots of sunlight, either potted on a sunny sill or planted outdoors in frost-free climates
